The tourist map of Cracow has a new noteworthy site: The Cracow Amber Museum, whose mission is to showcase the beauty of amber and the valuables made with it, but also to educate in the broadest sense of the term. The Amber – It’s Beauty and History, exhibition developed by the Polish Academy of Sciences Museum of the Earth, Warsaw, has such invaluable educational merit. The exhibition showcases the natural beauty of Baltic amber and provides valuable knowledge about amber’s origin and the history of its crafting.
The Museum has a state-of-the-art IRS spectrometer to test the authenticity of Baltic amber and each test is confirmed by a certificate with an individually numbered hologram. One enters the Museum passing through the Boruni Gallery, which offers a veritable review of the top contemporary amber art and craft: from classic designs to the avant garde. You can relax in the café garden and read about amber while sipping a cup of aromatic coffee.
