Dar Mounia, this first true Moroccan in the city, has brought the culinary skills of Casablanca-born, chef-owner Mounia to the benefit of Warsaw! Moroccan cuisine, with its Mediterranean, Andalusian, and Arabic influences, emphasizes cooking as an art form; tradition, expertise, and the purity of ingredients all contribute towards the masterpiece on one’s plate! Mounia’s mother and grandmother helped endow her with a certain culinary privilege; indeed at the mere age of 20 she became manager of the historic Palace Restaurant in Marrakech. Her restaurant here, done-up in contemporary Moroccan style with mosaic floors and dark wood, is awash with sublime aromas that reveal saffron and the all encompassing spice, rass el hanout. Mounia’s Italian-born husband Maurizio brings his own attention to detail and service, ensuring that this class-act venue is recognized as such. Incredible on all fronts!
