Restaurant Szara, located in the Main Square, is housed in a splendid 14th century building; its gothic arched interiors and decorated ceilings conveying a regal sensibility. Chef Jakub Kochana’s menu is best described as international, European with significant Scandinavian features, well loved by a clientele that converges from all over the globe. The Swedish style marinated herrings are an ideal prologue to dishes such as the Plankstek–this is beef sirloin served on an oak plank with pommes duchesse and yellow string beans wrapped in bacon. Desserts such as the chocolate mousse with sour cherry sorbet delightfully complete the gastronomic equation. Filip Kisiala and Kinga Dyląg advise guests on the choice of wines, as well as manage the graceful, apron attired service team. Szara also serves a broad-ranging breakfast daily from 8 a.m. until 12 noon. A true class act!
