Restaurant PONTI, located within spacious, modern interiors overlooking the river Oder in the heart of Wrocław, takes its name from the Italian word for bridges, a meaning of connection that runs through everything it does. Founded by Łukasz Drozd, the restaurant has Chef Aleksander Struś bridging Italian culinary ideas with Polish (mostly Lower Silesian) ingredients, so familiar forms like ravioli, gnocchi, and agnolotti arrive at the table with a distinctly local accent. Pasta dishes carry this philosophy further; examples include the spaghetti with crayfish in sea buckthorn, rigatoni with guanciale and aged sheep cheese, and gnocchi with blue cheese and hazelnuts. The grill adds its own overtones, from hearty, robust tagliata to lighter grilled trout with herbs and apple, while a dessert of buckwheat honey and mascarpone carries a distinct Polish twist.
